Meet the Chef

Chef Floyd Jackson

Chef Floyd Jackson's love for cooking runs deep in his family roots. Born and raised with ties to Granite Quarry, North Carolina, Floyd grew up immersed in the traditions of Southern cuisine. His grandmother, Sadie, was the heart of the family kitchen, and her recipes and techniques became the foundation of everything he cooks today.

Floyd's mother was a talented seamstress and cook who could turn simple ingredients into extraordinary meals. His parents met in Detroit, the “Home of Soul,” a city whose rich cultural heritage further shaped Floyd's appreciation for soul food and communal cooking.

By the age of 16, Floyd had prepared his first full meal from scratch. From there, his passion only grew. He traveled extensively, developing an expertise in spices and flavor profiles that sets his BBQ apart from the rest. Every rub, every sauce, every side dish reflects decades of learning and experimentation.

Sides BBQ and Catering

Our wood-fired BBQ operation specializes in event catering and food trailer service. From backyard cookouts to large-scale celebrations, we bring slow-smoked brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and all the classic Southern sides directly to your venue. You can also find us every Sunday at the Olney Farmers Market.

Corporate Catering Delivery

For over 40 years, Chef Jackson has been running a corporate catering delivery service, specializing in pharmaceutical office lunches, medical practice events, and business meetings across the DMV. Reliable, on-time, and consistently excellent.
